Its been in the 70s where I live and the beautiful weather has inspired me to instigate home improvements and repairs which has usurped my art time a bit. I’m still creating and working at projects as always but have not managed the time enough to post and blog, maybe tonight , tomorrow we have help removing our ruined carpet from the recent flooding that occured and fixed a hole in the ceiling in our kitchen (where there was a plumbing leak) and adhering two loose tiles from the guest bathroom floor and fixing a broken cabinet door. Home owning means always something to repair.
Also tomorrow is my leap year dh’s birthday and since its not too often he has one we will celebrate.
Off to work for now but I’ll be back soon:)

So for Valentines day I found a card for my hub that I liked a lot, so much so that I decided to create miniature collages to insert into some glass coasters which reflect the words on the card.

I was furthur inspired to create this "Word Carrier"

So, I wrote down all the names on a piece of paper:
I cut them up and put them in a glass bowl. I asked my husband to close his eyes and pull out two names:
Congrats to Becky and Angela Platten, I will be emailing you for addresses. Thanks to all who played!

- Constantly compare yourself to other artists.
- Talk to your family about what you do and expect them to cheer you on
- Base the success of your entire career on one project.
- Stick with what you know
- Undervalue your expertise
- Let money dictate what you do
- Bow to societal pressures
- Only make work that your family would love
- Do whatever the client/customer/gallery owner/patron/investor asks
- Set overwhelming, unachievable goals to accomplish by tomorrow

I have been having fun visiting many other blogs the past week while trying to dry out the flooded family room. Looks like we are just going to have to be rid of the carpet.
This is my latest creation, another "hybrid"
Veridianne
is narcoleptic and embarrassed about it. She paints when she is awake.
