Thursday, June 25th, 2009A roll of the Dice
Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009Right now the Barbie dolls are all about the pink and the black and the white.
This one can stand without a stand, she is fully jointed and poseable, my fav type Barbie to alter. She is standing on a paper mache bowl
If you are local and were considering the workshop, its this sat!
The workshop is Sat. June the 27th in my studio at home, 11:00 to 3:00 or when people are done, I will provide lunch and a Barbie if needed or people can bring their own. I will have all the supplies needed. the fee is 60.00 for one person or 50.00 each for two, if you bring a friend. The fee is payable by check or cash at the ten women gallery or by mail, or by paypal. Taking the workshop means your piece will be in the Barbie Redux exhibit (if you want), and you are not required to pay the 10.00 entrance fee for that. Email me if you have any questions and for more info.

Marie Antoinette
Marie was not hard to make but a little tedious (I am not a big fan of sewing or small bead work) Her dress is an altered dress, since my sewing skills and lack of sewing machine prevent me from making one from “scratch”, still its altered quite a lot from the original and works well as a big dress for that time in history.
I have another Marie in mind, to be made from paper mache, a medium I am more comfortable with than fabric, although I like fabric as a paintable moldable medium that isn’t sewn.
I’m trying to finish up a couple of Octopi for The Folk Tree show in July.
Today, I treat myself to a hair cut, its been about six months and over do ! =D

storage space
Monday, June 8th, 2009I found out yesterday that dh has some furniture coming to us from a previous office space that will be turned into a lab. four foot tall and about ten feet wide file cabinets that fit along one side of my studio wall, which I do need storage space, because as soon as I get rid of a batch of stuff a double batch comes back at me! It took the guys over and hour to install them. They look brand new and have a thick sturdy laminate top.
