Just because
Saturday, October 30th, 2010So, I asked the hub to look at my blog to see Jack Skellington because I am going to carve one of our pumpkins with that face for Halloween JUST in case we get a trick or treater. And he saw I posted the poster for the Rally to restore sanity, so he asked whats this? And I told him and he said, so why did you post this, and I said, because I believe in its message and he said so why didn’t you write a big thing about it. and I said, because its political and its an art blog so he says, so why did you post it and I said because I believe in its message. Courage of your convictions. Well, its divisive, and I don’t want to alienate anyone who is interested in my art, I think the two party system is unproductive and a catalyst for hate and division and it has nothing to do with my art which isn’t political. So why did I post it. I needed to.

A bit more glazing and a splash of glitter to glam her up and she will be good to go.
My take on Sally from A Nightmare Before Christmas, Tim Burton’s wonderful story. For a show in Detroit called Cindy Lou Who’s Holiday show, based on holiday tv shows or movies. Next, grown up Cindy Lou Who.
Normally on Thursdays I would be packing up to go to the gallery. I am pleased that I don’t have to make the hour long trek, although I did enjoy being at the gallery, the long commute was wearisome.
It seems that every year at this time, I’m tortured with thoughts of my Bro, still can not believe his is gone.
Glad to be holed up in our cozy home, so glad to have a home, and glad pugs are healthy albeit stinky. Wish I could get them to smell like flowers, since they live in my studio, but they always smell like dogs.

Tuesday, October 19th, 2010I don’t think I have ever been more happy about a power outage. But, when the power returned, my broken printer miraculously repaired itself. It isn’t as if I had not tried to reboot a dozen times over, just glad I procrastinated about getting a repair person out because I am certain that would be costly, the size of my printer makes it nearly impossible to transport, (it arrived on palates and I had to retrieve it from a ware house in my truck). Anyway, its something to be happy about.
Several projects in the works but its slooooow going.
I am enjoying the fall weather, immensely. Praising every falling leaf and happy to be sweeping and raking up the messes. Yay for cool, fresh, fall days. and a warm cozy home with fragrant candles burning. I love being at home.
