I may have posted this poem last year, Its a favorite and one I think of every year by ee cummings
i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart
i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)
Happy Valentines day, may love make its way into your heart!
Valentine progress
Friday, February 10th, 2012My damaged valentine is nearly finished, I wonder how many damaged Valentines will be woeful tomorrow or this the eve of all hearts day~~I’m rather joyous since me dad’s corazon is thump thumping healthily along.
Need to articulate the black pomegranates and work into the background for added depth and texture and debating about some more shadow/highlights in the hair.
A poem
Thursday, February 9th, 2012A friend posted this to her journal, I like it so I’m posting it here, yes its kind of random
The Spider and the Ghost of the Fly
BY VACHEL LINDSAY
Once I loved a spider
When I was born a fly,
A velvet-footed spider
With a gown of rainbow-dye.
She ate my wings and gloated.
She bound me with a hair.
She drove me to her parlor
Above her winding stair.
To educate young spiders
She took me all apart.
My ghost came back to haunt her.
I saw her eat my heart.
update
Thursday, February 9th, 2012For those interested, my father survived open heart surgery and is doing very well. I can breathe a sigh of relief and maybe even get back to some creativity. I am still in the midst of packing and moving stuff from one location to the other as we transition to the new abode so I only have bits and pieces of time for the art making. It won’t be too much longer before I can return to my normal obsessive artistic meanderings~
