New work! Paper Dolls

I have been working on some figures all week and finally this morning I have finished two of them. Its been a while since I have worked this way, so while tedious, I have enjoyed every moment. I build up the surface using small strips of torn paper, its paper mache.

this is a side view, you can see just how thin the piece is.

the started out like this:

Also finished this one, although, because its laying down, you can not see the beads hanging from the finger tips, I’ll need to take another photo, holding it up.

these are painted with acrylics and glazed with modge podge.

Oh how I LOVE your dolls! You make fabulous paintings too, but your crazy little dolls I love the most! A few years ago I saw your ornies and ever since then I am a true follower of your blog, although I never commented. It’s always fun to look around your weblog. Thank you for sharing.

Annieta, I am so pleased to hear from you, thank you for taking a moment to comment on this occasion!

Over the years I have found that people are generally partial one way or the other, ie they either prefer the paintings or the 3d work. I love it all!

thanks for following my blog, its always a thrill to meet who is paying attention
