acyrlics dry so fast, these new paintings happen quickly or at least much more quickly than the oil paintings, but need to be careful about too much build up or the surface gets slick and the tooth that gives a fresh brushy appearance disappears. The marks, though spontaneous need to be made with care

“The creative adult is the child who has survived.”
“It is good to have an end to journey toward;

I was fretting and fussing over a recent oil painting, it put me in a bad mood. So, I decided to start a different one, using acrylics which dries so fast, and just making fresh marks. Having fun with it and the little monster is what resulted. He didn’t start out as a monster…
Inspired by this color!

The hydrangeas are in bloom!!
Camille Rose Garcia has a great show coming up at the Merry Karnowsky Gallery. Her work is rather spectacular in person, where you can actually see all the mica and glitter. I’m a big fan.
Have a great weekend peeps, hubby is on his way home, his commute is an hour no less so he will be home by four, love when my hub comes home early he has been getting home round 8:30 all week

I don’t know recall why or how the idea of a braid from the chin occurred to me, but I like it. She is a bit monsterish. Monsters are real. Some are very pretty. Some are hideous. I see her as sublime.
